Coffee classifications

Each coffee producing country has its own criteria for classifying coffee, which includes the characteristics of bean purity, size and shape in a concise format.

Standard classifications used for key coffee origins follow:

Brasile: The meaning of the abbreviation “NY" and how defects are calculated.

India: PB, Bulk, Parchment... are designations derived from specific characteristics.

Congo (Zaire): HTM/W-M means bean grade 15 and washed coffee.

Costa D'Avorio: Which is better - "grade 0" or "grade IV"?
